Journalistic Article Competition 2022-New Deadline for submitting articles

The Competition is organized under the auspices of the Director of Secondary Education at the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports and Youth

The Cyprus Mathematical Society (CyMS) announces a competition for writing a journalistic expository article of philosophical reflection, investigation and expression of ideas on the subject of:

"Mathematics in online learning"

The article will be of exploratory/documentary type and the participants in the competition are expected to refer to the role of the online approach in the learning of Mathematics.

Contestants must have been normally enrolled as students in fulltime Secondary Schools (public or private) in Cyprus during the school year 2021-22.

NEW DEADLINE for submitting articles is the 24th of January 2022, until 12.00 noon.

The authors of the 10 best articles, that will be distinguished for each level, Gymnasium and Lyceum, will be invited to present their article and their positions at the Pancyprian Student Conference on Mathematics and to answer oral questions of the evaluators.

Based on this assessment the following prizes for each level will be given:

(a) 1st Prize: Diploma of Success, Honorary Plate and Tablet

(b) 2nd Prize: Diploma of Success, Honorary Plate 

(c) 3rd Prize: Diploma of Success.
