ANNOUNCEMENT AND INSTRUNCTIONS FOR STUDENTS FOR THE REGIONAL MATHEMATICS COMPETITION 2020

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 7, 2020

The Cyprus Mathematical Society Board, informs all the students who have submitted their participation for the Regional Mathematics Competitions 2020, within the deadline (October 23, 2020), that due to increased participation and to be able to comply with all Safety and Health Protocols, decided to conduct the competition in two different examination periods.

• The students of the 5th and 6th Grade of Primary School and the students of A’ Gymnasium (7th Grade), will attend the exam from 10 to 12 in the morning, as it was planned.
• The students of B’ Gymnasium (8th Grade) up to C’ Lyceum (12th Grade), will attend the exam from 1 to 3 in the afternoon.

The Regional Competition will take place on Saturday, November 7, 2020 at the below designated test centers for each district.

Test centers per District:

Nicosia - Latsia Lyceum

Limassol - Polemidia Lyceum

Larnaka - Verginas Lyceum

Famagusta - Paralimni Lyceum

Paphos - Agios Neofytos Lyceum

 

EXAMINATION PERIODS AND LEVELS OF EXAM

10:00 – 12:00

5th Grade Primary School

6th Grade Primary School

A’ Gymnasium (7th Grade)

 

13:00 – 15:00

B΄ Gymnasium (8th Grade)

C΄ Gymnasium (9th Grade)

A΄ Lyceum (10th Grade)

B΄ Lyceum (11th Grade)

C΄ Lyceum (12th Grade)

 

During the exam, as well as during the entry and exit of students in the examination centers, the rules of Safety and Health Protocol, valid during the day of the exam, will be applied.

• It is mandatory for the students of the Gymnasium and Lyceum to wear a mask inside and outside the examination rooms.
• The use of a mask is also recommended for students of Primary School.
• The students body temperature will be measured upon entering the Examination Center.
• The contestants will enter the examination center alone, without being accompanied by their parents. The organizers will direct students to their examination room.
• Parents will be waiting outside the school/examination center.

** Right to participate is restricted to the students who submitted their registration with the deadline (23 October 2020). During the week of 2-6 November 2020, a catalog with the names of participants will be published on the CyMS site (www.cms.org.cy), for confirmation.
