ANNOUNCEMENT AND INSTRUNCTIONS FOR STUDENTS FOR THE REGIONAL MATHEMATICS COMPETITION 2021

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 13, 2020

The Cyprus Mathematical Society Board, informs all the students who have submitted their participation for the Regional Mathematics Competitions 2021, within the deadline, that the Competitions will take place on Saturday, November 13, 2021, at 15:00 - 17:00 in the afternoon.

* Due to increased participation in the Nicosia District, and to be able to comply with all Safety and Health Protocols, the students will be separated in two different Exam Centers according to their level (class). 

The Regional Competition will take place at the below designated test centers for each district.

Test centers per District:

Nicosia - Latsia Lyceum - (at the Latsia Lyceum will take the exam students of 5th and 6th Grade of Primary School, A' Gymnasium (7th Grade) and C' Lyceum (12th Grade)  

Nicosia - FORUM Private School - (at the FORUM Private School will take the exam students of B' and C' Gymnasium (8th and 9th Grade) and A' and B' Lyceum (10th and 11th Grade)  

Limassol - Laniteio Lyceum

Larnaka - Verginas Lyceum

Famagusta - Paralimni Lyceum

Paphos - Kykkos Lyceum

During the exam, as well as during the entry and exit of students in the examination centers, the rules of Safety and Health Protocol, valid during the day of the exam, will be applied.

• For their entrance in the Exam Center, student contestants must present their safe pass. Contestants may present one of the following evidence:

1. Vaccination certificate with at least one dose, including completion of a three week post-vaccination. You can present the Vaccination Card issued by the Vaccination Centers. 
2. Proof that a student has contracted Covid-19 in the last 6 months. Students can present the text release message or the recovery text message, sent to them by the Ministry of Health on their mobile phone.
3. A negative PCR or Rapid test with a 72-hour validity period. 

• It is mandatory for the students of the Gymnasium and Lyceum to wear a mask inside and outside the examination rooms.
• It is mandatory for the students of the 5th and 6th Grade of Primary School to wear a mask during their movements to and from the examimation room. When they enter the room and sit at their desk they can remove the mask. (it is recommended to leave the mask on and inside the examination room)
• Student contestants must arrive at the exam center at least thirty (30) minutes earlier to the start of the test.
• The contestants will enter the examination center alone, without being accompanied by their parents. The organizers will direct students to their examination room.
• Parents will be waiting outside the school/examination center.

** Right to participate is restricted to the students who submitted their registration within the deadline and their name is included in the participants list. The participants lists will be published on the CyMS site (www.cms.org.cy) for confirmation and the students will be informed by an sms or email message.
